چکیده
Accurate estimates of tree diameter, height, volume, and biomass are important for numerous economic ecological applications. In this study, we report exponential equations to predict DBH (cm), stem volume over bark (VOB, m3), total above-stump (TASB, kg) using three varying levels input data Pinus radiata D. Don, Eucalyptus globulus Labill., nitens (H.Deane & Maiden) Maiden planted trees. The sets included: (1) height (HT, m), (2) HT ground projected living crown area (CA, m2), (3) HT, CA, additional stand parameters. analysis was performed a large dataset covering the range distribution species in central Chile included stands ages planting densities. first set only were satisfactory with Adj-R2 values ranging from 0.78 0.98 across all variables. For species, estimation DBH, VOB, TASB as function improved when CA added an independent variable, increasing reducing RMSE. inclusion variables, such age density, also resulted further improvement model performance. models reported study robust alternative estimations on wide densities, known, especially derived remote sensing techniques.

Wound wood formation in Eucalyptus globulus and Eucalyptus nitens: anatomy and chemistry
The wound-associated wood that developed 17 months following artificial xylem injury in Eucalyptus globulus (Labill) and Eucalyptus nitens (Maiden) was examined anatomically and chemically. This new tissue located immediately adjacent to the wound site and termed “wound wood” was highly variable consisting of callus, altered wood of increased parenchyma density, and dark extractives, visible to...
متن کاملLeaf water relations of Eucalyptus globulus ssp. globulus and E. nitens: seasonal, drought and species effects.
In August 1990, a 2-ha plantation was established in an area where rainfall (about 515 mm year(-1)) was insufficient to meet evaporative demand. On nine occasions between September 1991 and April 1993, pressure-volume curves were constructed for irrigated and rainfed Eucalyptus globulus ssp. globulus Labill. and E. nitens (Deane and Maiden) Maiden trees. During the experiment, rainfed trees exp...
متن کاملFunctions for Estimating Stem Diameter and Tree Age Using Tree Height, Crown Width and Existing Stand Database Information
The aim was to investigate the relations between diameter at breast height and maximum crown diameter, tree height and other possible independent variables available in stand databases. Altogether 76 models for estimating stem diameter at breast height and 60 models for tree age were formulated using height and maximum crown diameter as independent variables. These types of models can be utiliz...
متن کاملEstimation of Tree Biomass at Individual tree, Sample plot and Hybrid Level using Drone Images
Two-dimensional image conversion algorithms to 3D data create the hope that the structural properties of trees can be extracted through these images. In this study, the accuracy of biomass estimation in tree, plot, and hybrid levels using UAVs images was investigated. In 34.8 ha of Sisangan Forest Park, using a quadcopter, 854 images from an altitude of 100 meters above ground were acquired. SF...
متن کاملCrown structure and leaf area index development in thinned and unthinned Eucalyptus nitens plantations.
The crown structure of Eucalyptus nitens (Deane & Maiden) Maiden 6 years after thinning, and the development of stand leaf area index both immediately and 6 years after thinning, were investigated. Thinning did not alter branch angle, branching density or the relationship between branch size and branch leaf area. However, larger branches were found in the lower crown of thinned trees and the in...
